September 2026: online payments and work requests

SlipRight

Hello again.

September was about money and work: getting paid without checks in the mail, and getting jobs from the dock to the invoice without retyping them. Thank you to everyone who told us how their office really runs.

  • A Pay button on every invoice. Boat owners pay by card from their phone or any browser, and the money lands in your marina's own Stripe account. SlipRight takes no cut. You pay Stripe's rate and nothing on top.
  • Invoices that know where they came from. Each invoice links to the offer or the work request behind it, so the boat owner and the office both see what it's for.
  • Mail in your marina's name. Letters to your boat owners come from your marina, by name.
An invoice as your boat owner gets it: a letter in your marina's name with View invoice, and a push.
The invoice on their phone, line by line, with Pay.

Work requests, start to finish

  • One board for every job, from the first ask to resolved, with priority and who has it.
  • Parts and labor on the request. Add what went into the job, and the invoice is built from those same lines.
  • Inventory that keeps up. A part comes off stock when it goes on a job, and SlipRight flags it Low or Out before you run dry.
A request open beside the board: who has it, and the parts and labor its invoice is built from.
Inventory: what's on hand, the reorder point, price, and cost, with Low and Out marked.

Photos where they help

  • Photos, a short video, or a pin in a message, so "it's the third slip past the fuel dock" becomes a dot on the map.
  • Photos on requests and notes, so the yard sees the problem before walking down.
  • A photo of each boat on its record.
  • Registration and insurance uploaded by the boat owner, for the office to review.
  • Messages linked to the offer or request they're about, with the request's status right in the thread.
Asking for work from the dock: what's wrong, which boat, and a photo or video.

What's next

Fall is when the season's paperwork piles up, and that's where we're headed next. If there's something your marina needs before renewal season, reply to this letter or write to hello@slipright.app. We read every one.
