A Scribble MarinaOffice alternative with nothing to install

SlipRight

If your marina runs on MarinaOffice, Scribble Software's marina office software, the office's day starts at the computer it's installed on. Moving off a desktop system is a bigger step than changing websites, so the time to look is between seasons, before next season's offers go out. For most marinas in the Northeast and the Great Lakes, that's between December and February.

SlipRight is marina management with nothing to install. The office works from any computer, a tablet on the dock, or a phone, and boat owners sign their contract, pay, and ask for work from theirs. It costs one published price, takes no cut of payments, and we move your data free.

What MarinaOffice is and what it costs

Scribble Software sells MarinaOffice as desktop marina management software, built on Microsoft .NET with a SQL Server database. Beside it, Scribble sells desktop programs for the store, the fuel dock, service, and boat rentals, and a separate cloud product, MARINAGO Office (marinaoffice.net and scribblesoftware.com, checked October 24, 2026).

Scribble publishes no price, and its pages end at a demo or a request for information. Capterra lists MarinaOffice from $2,500 per feature, one time, with no free trial (checked October 24, 2026). Answering a review in 2018, Scribble wrote that its own technicians install and upgrade the software, that it recommends upgrading every year, and that upgrades are free to support plan subscribers with a small installation fee.

SlipRight is $5 a slip a month, with 50 slips at least, and the yearly plan is ten months' price. There is no license and no installation, and SlipRight updates itself, so there's never an upgrade to schedule. Boat owners pay by card or ACH into your own Stripe account. SlipRight takes no cut. You pay Stripe's rate and nothing on top.

What your boat owners get

MarinaOffice's page says customers can sign in to an online account to view, print, and pay their invoices, and it lists e-signature rental contracts (marinaoffice.net, checked October 24, 2026).

On SlipRight, boat owners get My slip on their phone, with Face ID sign-in on an iPhone, and the same portal in any browser.

  • They see their slip on your map, and a second boat stays on the same name.
  • They see the offer you sent, with the slip, the season, the haul-out and launch weeks, and the services, and sign it from their phone or any browser.
  • They pay by card or ACH, keep a card or bank account on file, and turn on autopay, and a payment plan can require it.
  • They ask for work from the dock with a photo, and talk to the office in one thread.
  • They see their haul-out day, and ask to move it from the same screen.
  • They hear about each of these by email, push, or text, whichever they choose.

What the office runs from anywhere

Everything the office does on SlipRight works the same at the desk, on a tablet on the dock, and on a phone at home.

  • Maps shows every slip on your marina's aerial photo and who is in it. SlipRight drafts the map from the photo, and the office checks the docks and names.
  • New offer sends next season's renewals to one customer or all of them, and each signed offer comes back with the boat, the services, and a payment plan filled in.
  • SlipRight drafts the invoices from the plan the owner chose. With autopay on, they charge themselves on the due date.
  • A late invoice turns Overdue on its own, the owner gets one letter, and a late fee follows if you turn them on.
  • The requests board holds every job from the dock, and parts come off inventory onto the invoice.
  • For the books, the office exports invoices, payments, and a QuickBooks journal.

How the move works

We move your data free: your customers, their boats, and who is in which slip. Your slips, inventory, and each customer's opening balance come in through the same import, the balance as one invoice per customer. Send us what you can export from MarinaOffice, and we run it through the same screens you would use. A dry run marks every row before anything is written, so you see the duplicates and the gaps first, and you can undo an import while nothing depends on it yet.

The cleanest switch for a seasonal marina is to start the new season on SlipRight and let MarinaOffice finish the old one.

  1. Next season's offers go out from SlipRight.
  2. MarinaOffice bills and collects what's left on last season.
  3. You stop using it, and end its support plan, when that's done.

No agreement moves in the middle of its term. Cards stored for MarinaOffice's payments don't come across, so each boat owner saves a card or bank account in My slip, and once your Stripe takes payments the invite letter asks them to. Moving a marina off a spreadsheet walks through the import step by step.
