August 2026: where SlipRight stands this summer

SlipRight

Hello from SlipRight.

We started building SlipRight this spring with one idea: a marina office shouldn't need a spreadsheet, a filing cabinet, a whiteboard, and a ringing phone to get through a season. Since then we've spent most of our time talking to marina owners and building what they told us they needed. Here's where SlipRight stands at the end of the summer.

One marina, on every screen

  • The office and the boat owner each get their own side. The office runs the marina; boat owners see their slip, their contract, their invoices, and their requests.
  • The same marina on every screen: the office computer, a tablet on the dock, your phone, and the boat owner's phone or home computer.
  • It keeps working on the dock. A change made with no signal waits on the phone and goes through when it's back online.
  • Your staff, with their own logins, and jobs assigned to the right person.
The office: what needs doing today, who owes, and the latest from the docks.

A map of your marina

  • Draw your docks and slips over the aerial photo, sized to fit a marina of any size, and add slips in a batch.
  • See who's where. Hover a slip to see who's in it and their boat, without leaving the map.
  • Boat owners see their own slip on the same map.

Customers and boats

  • Every boat owner on one record, with their boats, slip, contract, invoices, and requests.
  • Import your customer list from a spreadsheet, and export it whenever you like.
  • Your own fields on every customer, for whatever your office tracks.
  • Invite boat owners to their portal from their record, with one click.
A customer's row opened in the list: contact, slip, boat, offer, balance, and the latest request.

Work requests and messages

  • Boat owners ask for work from their phone, and the office runs every job on one board, from new to done.
  • Notes on each request, kept inside the office or shared with the boat owner.
  • One conversation with each boat owner, with staff notes the owner never sees.
  • Email when something happens. Boat owners hear when the office writes, when a request is resolved, and when an invoice is sent or overdue; the office hears when a boat owner writes or asks for work.
  • An activity log on both sides, with filters, so anyone can see what changed and when.
Jobs on the board, each with its priority, who has it, the boat, and the slip.

New this month: the season's contract

  • Your catalog. List what you sell once, from storage by the foot to shrink wrap, with each line required or left for the owner to choose.
  • Templates for each season, with the season's dates, your own terms, and the services, organized into sections.
  • More than one way to pay. A template can offer several payment schedules, and the boat owner picks one when they accept.
  • Signed on any screen. Boat owners see the offer you sent, choose their services, and accept from their phone or any browser, and both sides can print a clean copy.
The catalog: each line priced per foot or flat, required or optional, by category.

Tell us what you need

If something in your season still lives on paper or in a spreadsheet, reply to this letter or write to hello@slipright.app and tell us about it. We read every one.

See you next month.
